It's finally summer and the gardens are mostly in...at least St. Ansgar's Farmer's market is open again and selling radishes, onions, and loads of sweet breads...
Katy, our Missouri daughter may bring up watermelon and the largest, sweetest, juiciest melons - an Arkansas-Missouri breed of cantaloupe yet this month ... or maybe it won't be until July. They have had a cool, WET Spring, too. (hmm...cool...as in the 70's in April/May and June! Oh mercy! I do not miss those Missouri summers!!!) And our newest grand-daughter, Grace (who, at 4 months, almost tips the scales at 12 pounds!)
Thank you to all of you that have already visited our new shop in Mason City!! I was at the shop the first 2 weeks and met many of you that hadn't made it up to St. Ansgar yet, but seeing so many familiar faces was especially nice, too! It's sort of like ol' home week for the Mason City locals...Becci, Betty, and Chris will be the regular staff...all experienced and happy to help turn your creative dreams into those prized completed quilt projects.
We are still scuttling fabric between the two shops and I plan on several trips a week..so we will be happy to bring fabrics, notions and patterns from one shop to the other. Right now, St. Ansgar has the majority of the 30's and Civil War Reproductions, Fossil Ferns, batiks, neutrals, Black and whites, red/whites, Patriotic, Hoffman "gilt and glitz", and the color wall assortment.
Mason City has mostly Moda collections, Thimbleberries (I found more vintage Thimbleberries at St. A!!), In the Pink II, Red Rooster and Benartex Christmas collections.
